The conspiracy nutjobs are going ape shit as there's a tweet from back in 2012 suggesting Kobe would die from a helicopter crash.
It's not from anyone of significance, so likely to be a massive coincidence.

I may be wrong but I understand that the pilot had a restricted licence that only allowed him to fly in good visibility (VFL or something) and the conditions were foggy.
8 VIP pax and a bertie big bollox probably were in a hurry.

It was probably one of the most expensive struggle-snuggle, strangle fucks in history.
It was alleged he paid out something like $20m to her to go away and gave his wife a $4m diamond ring the nxt day to say sorry.
Genuinely terrible thing for his daughters and the other passengers though.

Rios, wasn't saying he wasn't guilty or anything, I'd actually never heard of the accusations to be fair. Shows how good a job that was done to keep it quiet as I do regularly watch basketball.

Somebody posted it below.
He was alleged to have raped a 19 year old. When questioned he denied having sex with her, until they produced evidence of his semen inside her, at which point he admitted to sex but claimed it was consensual.
He deployed some unusual tactics in his defence, when asked if his victim was too scared to talk (in order to say NO) he said that was not true, because when he asked if he could come in her face, she said no.

Especially high profile since 2003, mysteriously.
It's sad when anyone dies, especially a child, but the guy was no saint, even though his team have done a tremendous job of creating an avalanche of good Kobe to quash memories of the bad Kobe who did whatever he wanted. Fans wanted to pretend none of those things happened, and dollars buried it. It's a heart-warming NBA tradition.
